I am on my significant other's farm property, where I moved full time, just 2 weeks ago. He and I are in the barn, resting on the barn floor, holding hands. I realize that the hand that I thought was his, was another hand altogether. The unknown hand slipped into a dark space, like a hole in the barn. I soon realize that there is a man living in the barn, in that hole. The man is in dirty clothes, dirty skin, non verbal, and seems a bit wild. He comes out of the hole at one point with a really long pole and starts swinging it at me. I wake up. I go back to sleep. The dream continues. This time I am on an unfamiliar piece of land. There is a large pole building, almost like an airplane hanger with an open front. I notice that it must have had livestock in it because there is a huge accumulation of old manure outside the barn and inside the barn. I walk into the dark barn and as my eyes adjust, I see that there are built up mounds of manure with holes, like caves. I realize that there is a community of people living in those manure caves, and they do not want to be seen. I see slight movement, and I know that there are families in there, and that these people have been living here for awhile with nothing except their manure holes/caves. A shift in the dream, and a woman is next to me, one of the manure living people. Barely verbal, in broken english, she assures me that they do not want help. They do not want anything. They just want to be alone. I imagine that all of the women have uti infections, imagining that they have sex in the manure, and that no one can ever bathe. Next to the barn, I realize we are near an airport. I go with my partner to one of the doors and ask if we can get in that way. He says no, that was not the entrance, but not to even try to get in because they are just about to shut everything down, and seal in the area. I realize that others know that the manure-housed people are there, and that they don't want them to get out. This scares me. I wake up.
Dreams often reflect our subconscious thoughts, feelings, and experiences. The dream you described contains various elements that may symbolize aspects of your life, relationships, and internal struggles. 1. **Barn and Farm Setting:** The barn represents a space of potential, work, and nurturing. Since you recently moved to your partner’s farm, this could symbolize your new life together and the responsibilities or changes that come with it. The barn is also a space where animals are kept, which can indicate aspects of primal instincts or raw emotions. 2. **Holding Hands:** This gesture usually signifies connection, intimacy, and support in a relationship. However, when you realize the hand is not your partner's, it could symbolize a fear of misunderstanding or disconnect in your relationship. It might suggest that you are feeling uncertain about the stability or authenticity of your romantic commitments. 3. **The Unknown Man:** The man living in the dark hole may represent hidden fears, unresolved issues, or aspects of yourself or your partner that you are not fully aware of. His wildness and lack of communication might suggest feelings of being overwhelmed or threatened by the unknown in your relationship or life in general. The pole he swings could symbolize aggression, fear, or a defense mechanism that feels threatening to you. 4. **Transition to a New Land:** The unfamiliar place with the pole building signifies a need for exploration and understanding of new environments or circumstances. It may represent feelings of being out of your comfort zone in this new life you're building with your partner. 5. **Manure Caves and Hidden People:** The manure could symbolize something unpleasant or negative in your life, perhaps indicating feelings of being trapped or living in a situation that feels demeaning. The people living in the manure caves might reflect aspects of yourself or others that feel marginalized, neglected, or stuck. Their desire to remain hidden and refuse help suggests a theme of self-isolation or a refusal to confront difficult emotions or situations. 6. **Airport Symbolism:** The airport may represent a longing for escape or transition, a desire to move forward but feeling prevented from doing so. The fact that your partner tells you it’s about to be sealed off suggests a fear of missing out or the concern that you might be trapped in a situation or relationship where you cannot freely express yourself or seek change. 7. **Overall Themes:** Overall, your dream seems to delve into themes of intimacy, fear of the unknown, marginalization, the struggle for understanding in a new environment, and the feeling of being trapped in difficult situations. Consider reflecting on your current feelings about your relationship, any unresolved personal issues, or feelings of discomfort in your new life. This dream may be prompting you to explore those feelings, face fears, or communicate more openly with your partner about your thoughts and concerns. It might also indicate a need for self-care and setting boundaries to foster a more fulfilling life.
